This is a popular model that New Japan Marine began selling after taking over the designs and molds from Nissan Marine, which had discontinued its boat business. It is a 28-foot-class fishing cruiser that combines excellent handling performance with practicality, making it versatile for everything from fishing to cruising and family outings. The spacious cabin is convenient for resting and storing gear, making it ideal for family cruising. Additionally, the large aft deck accommodates various fishing styles—such as jigging, tairaba, and live bait fishing—and features a layout that’s highly popular among anglers. As it is an outboard-powered model, it offers excellent maintainability and low running costs, which are major advantages. Its stable handling performance, characteristic of New Japan Marine, is highly regarded by many owners. The boat is equipped with two Suzuki 150-horsepower 4-stroke outboard engines. The current owner purchased the boat approximately six years ago and uses it about four times a year. Although this was the first time the boat had been taken out in about two years, maintenance was performed prior to departure, including the replacement of the fuel pump with a new one. Although we did not conduct a test run during the interview, the owner reported that the boat had been used for actual navigation about five days prior to the interview and operated without any issues. The hull has been completely repainted and has been refreshed overall. Additionally, because a rope snapped while the boat was moored last year, causing damage to the hull, the gunwales were replaced with new ones at that time. At the time of our visit, volcanic ash from the eruption of Sakurajima had accumulated on the hull, but according to the owner, it can be washed off with water.
